Computer Won T Connect To Ethernet Cable
When i try to connect wirelessly it will say the connection is limited.
Computer won t connect to ethernet cable. Plug one end of the ethernet cable into one computer. In many cases you ll automatically connect to the internet. I can connect to the internet no problem wireless and i can plug another computer into the same ethernet cable that i am trying to connect to and it works on that computer. I am using an ethernet cable connected to a tp link 150 mbps tl wr700n router thingy because it won t connect to wifi.
When i hook the ethernet cable up the lights on the ethernet port on the side of the computer light up and it says that it has connected to a unidentified network but will. Use an ethernet cable to connect your computer s ethernet port to a modem or other network device for example a switch or a router. If none of those tests fixes. This used to be a simple network trick connect two windows pcs using network cable go into adapter settings ipv4 set one ip to 10 0 0 1 and the other 10 0 0 2 then you can easily see the other computer and copy move files.
I ve reset my computer and it still has the same issues. If your computer doesn t have an ethernet port try using a usb to ethernet adapter or a thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet adapter. The ethernet cable s head should fit into the ethernet port on your computer with the lever side facing down. My laptop won t connect to the wifi anymore but it works perfectly fine with the ethernet cable.
I appreciate it very much if you tech geniuses could help me out. If that fixes the problem you came out with a very simple fix. If you have to use an ethernet adapter plug the usb end of the adapter into one of your computer s free usb ports. If that doesn t work swap ethernet cables even if you have to borrow or buy a new cable to do so.
